Mary McGaw Rubel is the founder and proprietor of Eagles Mere East.  She is now celebrating over twenty years running the shop.    "I am so happy with the store's new location.  It's really a pleasure taking up the responsibility for preserving a bit of 'Old Eagles Mere.'  I love the new space and I love the feel of the space.  I feel pleased that I can offer a shopping experience that is more than just selling merchandise." 

A resident of Eagles Mere since the 1940's she has been deeply involved in the community for many years.  "I really feel that Eagles Mere East is a gift for me.  It is part of the community and I love being able to share such wonderful things with my customers."  Mary's twenty years living in Pakistan, Nepal, and Thailand as the wife of a US Foreign Service Officer provides the background feeling for the shop.  The contents of the shop include interesting things that she has found in her worldwide travels.
